Candle Care Guide

Get the most out of your candles with our candle care guide.
Candle maintenance is simple with these easy to follow tips to help you enjoy your candle from the first burn to the final flicker.

3) Keep it clean

By trimming your wick before every burn, you’re mostly there in keeping your candle and vessle clean, which minimises smoke and sooting. Avoid any debris from the burnt wick entering your wax pool by using a folded-up tissue to remove the burnt wick, stopping it falling inside.

4) Safety first

We advise burning your candle for a maximum of 4 hours, minimising risk of damage or issues. Please keep an eye on your candle while it’s burning. never leave a burning candle unattended.

Choose a safe place to burn your candle, keeping lit candles away from children and pets. We strongly advise placing your candle on a flat, heat resistant surface or candle plate. Always make sure the candles are away from objects that may catch fire.

5) Safely extinguish

We recommend using a candle snuffer to limit excess smoke and prevent hot wax from splattering, use a candle snuffer when putting out the candle, holding the snuffer over the flame for 5 seconds.  Allow the candle to cool before moving.

7) Repurpose your glass jar

Whilst we work on developing our candle refills, we heavily encourage repurposing your glass vessel after you have enjoyed your candle. Give your empty candle jar a new lease of life by repurposing it as a mini vase, a versatile container, or drinking glass (if cleaned very thoroughly).

1) Trim the wick

Our candle wicks are made from 100% cotton. They are natural and non-toxic, providing a safe and clean burn throughout.

An essential part of candle care is keeping your wick trimmed before each burn. We recommend trimming your wick down to around 5mm, to ensure an even burn.

2) The first burn is the most important

After trimming your wick and lighting your candle for the first time, let the candle burn allowing the entire top surface to become liquid during the first use.

This will help the candle to burn evenly, preventing your candle from tunnelling.

6) Put the lid on after each use

Once cool, cover your candle with the accompanying glass lid to prevent dust from gathering on the surface after each use. Keeping your candle clean will help it last longer and ensure scent preservation.
